Voice and tone

Illinois State University adopted University Voice and Tone guidelines in 2022. Voice and tone are how we sound to our audiences.  Appropriate and consistent voice and tone strengthen the University's brand. University Voice and Tone guidelines are to be used in tandem with these Editorial Standards, The Associated Press Style book, and individuals’ own best judgment.
