New photo rates for FY23

Starting July 1, 2022, the following photography rates will be in effect:

  • $80 per hour for shoots/events between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • $100 per hour for shoots/events after 5 p.m. and until 11 p.m., and on weekends
  • $15 per person for headshots of faculty, staff, or students taken in the UMC studio
    • Note: faculty/staff head shots are only available in the UMC photo studio. Portable set ups are no longer offered for campus departments.
  • $80 per hour (or $100 per hour for nights/weekends), plus mileage and expenses, for a photo shoot outside of Bloomington-Normal
  • $20 per hour for archival retrieval of photos
  • UMC can assist with coordinating a freelance photographer for student headshots at University events (i.e., Career Fairs, College Weeks). Typical rates for freelancers are $150/hour.

There is a one-hour minimum charge for all events, group photos, and environmental portraits.

WebDAM

WebDAM, the University's online photo storage service, is now available for all campus marketers. WebDAM is a great resource for high-resolution photos of campus, people, and events to use in social media posts, news stories, and publications. In addition, original versions of all the .gifs available on Giphy are located on WebDAM in the “Digital Assets” folder for direct download and use. All WebDAM users will have access to “Campus Photos” and “Digital Assets” folders, as well as folder(s) for their respective unit. Users can make requests via WebDAM to download additional photos not available in their unit folders; please allow up to three business days for download requests to be processed.

Photo/Video Release Forms and Resources

For registered group events, photo/video release information can be added to online registration forms or printed registration materials. Please use this language for registered events.

For non-registered group events, this sign can be posted at the entrance/check-in table/front door. The sign must be removed immediately after the event ends.
